The virtues of solidarity, compassion, and readiness to assist both those we know and those we do not are deeply woven into the fabric of the Serbian people. The enduring message of Serbian epic verse—one that speaks of courage and goodness in times of hardship—has now been felt by the people of Norway and the residents of Drammen, following the city’s largest fire in several decades.

The Serbian community in Drammen was the first to step forward, offering all the resources at its disposal. Moved by this remarkable display of compassion, humanity, and solidarity, the Mayor, the Church of Norway, and the Norwegian media expressed their gratitude and highlighted the Serbian community’s admirable gesture.
