Serbian community in Iceland meets with its new Ambassador

Ambassador Jasmina Mitrović Marić’s first official visit to Iceland was marked by a cordial meeting with representatives of the Serbian community.

In her conversation with the President of the Serbian Cultural Centre, Danijela Živojinović, and the President of the Church Board, Ivan Mladenović, the Ambassador expressed her gratitude for their great efforts and dedication to preserving Serbian roots, language, national identity and ties with the homeland.

They were pleased to hear that support for the Serbian community in Iceland will be among the priorities of her forthcoming mandate. The Ambassador also expressed her sincere joy and pride at the high regard enjoyed by the Serbian community among their Icelandic hosts, something conveyed to her during all of her official meetings in Iceland.

During her visit to Iceland, Ambassador Jasmina Mitrović Marić also met with the Kojić family, renowned for their unique and, in world diplomacy, rare tradition of multi-generational honorary consuls in the service of Serbia.
