School Certificates Presented by Kraljević Marko!

A hall with more than 150 seats proved too small for all the pupils of the Serbian Supplementary School, together with their siblings and parents. This was no ordinary end-of-school-year celebration, but a wonderful and memorable surprise for our children, made possible by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Oslo and the Children’s Cultural Centre of Belgrade, with the support of the Serbian Academic Society and the teachers of the Ministry of Education’s Serbian Supplementary School in Oslo.

Thanks to the Embassy, the Children’s Cultural Centre of Belgrade brought its monodrama The Adventures of Kraljević Marko to Oslo for this special occasion. The youngest pupils received their school certificates from the hero of Serbia’s epic decasyllabic poetry himself.

Ambassador Jasmina Mitrović-Marić, Tatjana Hot, the Ministry of Education’s Coordinator for Serbian-language instruction, and teachers Gordana Čović, Milica Tomić and Dragana Simić joined the children and guests on this memorable adventure.

The gathering concluded with the Embassy’s most delightful gift to its youngest members of the Serbian community abroad: an educational music-and-entertainment programme by Peđolino, who turned the occasion into an unforgettable children’s party.
