Oslo marks Armistice Day of the First World War
12. Nov 2025.
The parish hall in Oslo was filled with people and children eager to attend the gathering. Adorned with Serbian ramonda flowers, we sang together with the children’s choir from the Serbian school, who proudly waved Serbian tricolours as the melody of “Tamo daleko” echoed through the hall.

The ceremonial academy was initiated by Ambassador Jasmina Mitrović Marić, who addressed our diaspora in Norway for the first time, emphasizing that Serbs pass on the memory of Armistice Day in the same way they pass on family heritage and the patron saint’s day - from generation to generation. Words of welcome were also offered by the host of the gathering, Priest Aleksandar Zeljković.

Representatives of Serbian associations and societies, along with numerous compatriots, highlighted the importance of such events and their deeply moving, pride-filled emotional dimension that connects us all with a heroic past.
