With Love for Serbia from Distant Jessheim

The multi-day celebration of Statehood Day, which this year was dedicated to educating our children in the diaspora about the significance and symbolism of Sretenje through the interactive musical and stage program “We Learn from Our Ancestors,” concluded in Jessheim.

At the conclusion of this uniquely conceived celebration, envisioned as a meeting of ancestors and descendants across several cities in Norway, the Embassy presented commemorative letters of appreciation to individuals whose selfless professionalism and personal dedication contributed to the successful implementation of the program throughout the Kingdom of Norway, where a significant number of members of our diaspora reside.

A touching gathering, an inspired approach, and our youngest participants acquiring knowledge about the land of their heritage—knowledge that had clearly been missing, yet awakened in them a sense of pride, love, and a desire to learn more—were the true reward for the effort invested and a testament to the importance of such events.
