WITH DIGNITY AND PRIDE, NORWEGIANS ATTEND KING HAAKON VIII’S OATH-TAKING CEREMONY IN DAYS OF MOURNING

Thousands of Norwegians proudly lined the streets today along the route from the Royal Palace to the Parliament, where King Haakon VIII took the oath before the members of Parliament, formally assuming his duties following the passing of his father, King Harald V. The ceremony was attended by members of Parliament and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Oslo.
