CELEBRATING CREATIVITY
On 13 June 2026, Dragan Cale Marić, Director of the Children's Cultural Centre Belgrade, visited the International Museum of Children's Art in Oslo.
During the visit to this unique museum, founded in 1986 and renowned for promoting and safeguarding children's rights through its exceptionally rich international collection of children's artwork, discussions were held on establishing and institutionalizing cooperation between the two kindred institutions.
The hosts were introduced to the work of the Children's Cultural Centre Belgrade, with particular emphasis on “Joy of Europe”, the largest and longest-running international festival of children's creativity. Discussions also focused on potential cooperation within the framework of the “Dove of Peace” initiative, especially considering that part of the permanent exhibition of the International Museum of Children's Art in Oslo is dedicated to children's artistic peace activism.
Thanks to the hospitality of Angela Goldin, Director of the International Museum of Children's Art in Oslo, and her colleagues, Director of the Children's Cultural Centre Belgrade Dragan Marić was given a comprehensive tour of the museum’s permanent exhibition. Particular attention was drawn to children's artworks from Serbia, which have been part of the collection of this distinguished museum in Norway for many years.
As of today, the Museum’s permanent collection in Oslo has been enriched with artworks from the “Dove of Peace” competition organized by the Nobel Peace Center, which were donated by the Director of the Children's Cultural Centre Belgrade on behalf of the young artists from Belgrade.
The visit to this unique museum further strengthened the successful cooperation between the Children's Cultural Centre Belgrade and Norwegian cultural institutions. It builds upon a series of previously implemented initiatives, including donations of children's books that significantly enriched the collections of the National Library of Norway and Serbian supplementary schools operating under the Norwegian Ministry of Education, as well as the successful workshop “Let Us Get to Know Norway”, organized within the framework of the International Friendship Club in cooperation with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade.
