“ANNIVERSARIES ARE ABOUT PEOPLE” - A PUBLIC LESSON ON THE SHARED HISTORY OF SERBIA AND NORWAY IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR

Students, parents, and numerous friends attended the public lesson titled “Years are not the anniversary - people are”
The lesson was held on Friday, 28 November 2025, at the Serbian language supplementary school in Fredrikstad. The lecture was delivered by Saša Dimitrijević, a journalist and publicist, decorated with the Medal of Saint Olav in Norway and the Order of the Karađorđe’s Star in Serbia.
Those present heard the truth about the notorious German labor camps in occupied Norway, where our ancestors were interned, about their suffering on the “Bloody Road,” as well as about the courage of Norwegians who selflessly helped the exhausted and starving Serbs in the far north.
